There are a number of technical reasons why it’s not recommended to re-open a role on the platform.
Re-opening a role once it has been closed for some time and after the existing pipeline candidates have been fully assessed, could compromise the original data held.
It will also impact on your reporting at the end of the process, such as skewing the key ‘Time to Hire’ metric.
It's worth bearing in mind also, that the platform will not allow a previous candidate to apply to the same role, using the same email address. Therefore candidates who may have good reason to re-apply would not be able to do so, unless they used a new email address.
The most efficient way to re-use an old role is to duplicate it. This is a really simple one click process that transfers all of the ‘build’ sections (job description, sift & interview questions and job settings) across into a new role, without impacting on any of the candidate data that has been accrued on the original. Duplicating also gives you, as Admin, the flexibility to make changes to questions and other assessments. A previously open role will have been locked for editing in order to provide a fair and consistent candidate experience.

Remember you can also use ‘Quick Apply’ on a duplicate role. If you have a shortlist of good candidates who applied to the original this could be ideal and save time on both sides. For more information on ‘Quick Apply’ click here.
