How to set up Job Analysis tool? Differences between free trial set up and unlimited access.

Free trial

Applied offers a 7 day free trial of our Job Description Analysis Tool (JDAT), to allow you to try it out - commitment free! 

Getting started

Simply click here, enter a couple of details and you can have access to the tool within a few minutes.

No subscription is required and no payment details are taken for the trial. The JDAT is an online, in-browser tool, and to set up your free temporary account, you just need to share with us your:

• Name
• Email
• Job title and 
• Company name*

Absolutely NO other information is stored, and any text you enter into the tool cannot be seen by anyone at Applied. 

*If our system detects multiple sign-ups from the same organisation, it may block any new users from that organisation. Similarly, if it detects what appears to be a repeat user, with a new email address, it will block that user. Please get in touch with us at [e-mail] if you’re having trouble signing up.

Once you enter the details, and click ‘start free trial’ you will receive an automated confirmation email, which includes a link to the JDAT user guide, plus login and password setting instructions. Sometimes this email ends up in your junk/promotions folder, so make sure you check there if you haven’t received it within a few minutes. If you still can’t find it - send a quick message to [e-mail] - our support team will be able to assist you.

During the trial

During the free trial, there is no limit to how often you can use the tool, or how much text you can process. It is also not limited to full Job Descriptions - for example, you may wish to check any blog posts, website content, emails, or even individual sentences/phrases, to see what the gender balance is, and check the readability score.

Please note, when you close or refresh your browser, any text you’ve put into the JDAT will be erased, so make sure you save your content outside of the tool if you wish to keep it!

If you need any technical support while using the tool, you can contact our Support team at [e-mail]. They aim to respond within office hours Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (UK time). If you would like to speak to someone about upgrading to a full subscription, you can always reach the New Accounts team at [e-mail].  

We will send you a small number of emails during and after the trial, to check in & make sure you’ve been able to access the tool successfully, to remind you when the access is going to expire, and to give you the opportunity to upgrade to a longer term subscription if you wish.

After the trial

The trial will automatically expire 7 days after you initially submitted your details. If you do not wish to extend your access or upgrade to an annual subscription, you don’t need to do anything else! We always appreciate any feedback on your experience of using the tool, even if you are not extending/upgrading.

Paid subscription

We’ll be absolutely thrilled if you enjoy your JDAT trial, and choose to upgrade to a full subscription. It’s very easy to set up:

1. Schedule a quick call with our New Accounts team, who will run through:
• How many users you would like to have access for
• Pricing options* for set number of users vs. unlimited enterprise licenses
• Preferred start date
• Training involved (if required)
• Any other questions from you

2. The team will send you an online proposal, which will include:

• • Pricing, 
  • Number of users, 
  • Start date & subscription term 
  • Finer Ts & Cs
  • Any special conditions or discounts agreed (e.g. for a charity)

3. Signing this proposal online begins your contract with Applied. 

4. The team will then set all users up with their own individual logins. You simply need to send over each user’s:

• • Name
  • Email address
  • Job title

*If you are an existing Applied Platform user, access to the JDAT is heavily discounted.

Each  set up user will receive their own welcome email with a link to the JDAT user guide, their own individual login and password reset instructions. Once again, if this email has not been received and is not in any secondary folders (junk/promotions) our support team at [e-mail] will be happy to help.

Training

The JDAT is very user-friendly, and most people find the following resources enough to get them started using the tool proficiently - even if they have not previously seen a demo or taken part in the free trial:

Further to the above, if you feel your team would benefit from a more interactive session,  someone from the Applied team will be happy to hold up to 1 hour of training for all users. This is at no extra cost (though any further 1-1 sessions would be an additional charge). This includes:

• A brief introduction of Applied & the behavioural science we’re based on
• Running through the key features of the JDAT
• Live editing 2-3 Job Description examples from your organisation, using Applied’s suggested corrections/improvements.

Ongoing Use

The JDAT will work exactly the same as during the free trial; usage is unlimited, and no text put through the tool is stored anywhere within Applied, nor is it visible to anyone other than the individual using the tool at that time. Text must be saved outside of the tool (either by copy & paste or exporting to Word doc). Each user has access to and is responsible for their own email login & password.

Bonus material 

All Applied customers have free access to our monthly masterclasses on creating great shortlisting questions, and holding the perfect interviews for your candidates! These sessions are designed to complement access to the main Applied recruiting platform, but as a JDAT customer you are more than welcome to take advantage of these resources for you and your team.
