What is the AI question generator?
Answer a few questions about your role and Applied's intelligent AI generator will give you personalised skills-based question templates to use for your Sift questions. You can use this as a creation tool, generation tool, inspirations tool, and co-collaboration tool. Look at generated templates for inspiration, save as many as you like, edit the ones you want, and then when your team is ready, sync the final versions of the questions directly back into the Applied ATS Builder where you can continue editing your role, the questions, review your entire hiring process. Everything is saved to this tool automatically so you can always come back, change content, regenerate, or revisit past ideas.
How do I use it?
Simply open the tool and start filling out the sections. Each section needs to be completed to be able to generate questions in order to give you the most accurate, personalised, and unique skills-based questions so you can assess candidates accurately. These 3 pages act as the prompt for the AI generator.
Our AI then takes all that information to come up with job-specific and predictive questions to test the right skills for your potential candidate.
Sections to complete to use the AI Generator
The Candidate:
What is your ideal candidate? What would be their key traits you look for when hiring? What would be their main responsibilities on the job? Each category (Key Traits, Responsibilities) must have at least 3 items under each to continue to the next page.
The Company:
Fill in the section on this page concerning a summary of your company, the values, motivations, or mission here. This will help tailor the questions for your company and not just the role. Fill in details about the team the candidate will be on, or what type of work environment they'll experience with fellow colleagues, team mates, dynamics, etc.
The Skills:
Select at least 3 skills that you'd like to asses candidates on for the role. Select from pre-suggested skills or add your own from the search bar.
*Changes made to the these sections after the Generator has been run are allowed. Just make sure to click the "Update and regenerate" to ensure your template questions reflect the new changes and edits you made to the pages The Candidate, The Company, and The Skills.
Generated content
Read through templates, save as is to your Saved folder, edit templates to better fit your needs, or regenerate and see what other ideas the generator can come up with. All questions will prompt you to add a Review Guide (scoring rubric - can be AI generated as well). This can be added either in the Generator Tool or in Builder once you've synced the questions back to the ATS.
Who can use this tool?
Access the AI generation tool from your Builder and share it with your team to collaborate on questions, skills to test, and how to best assess candidates for the job. Anyone on the role with either of the following permissions can access the tool: Job Admin, Hiring Manager, or Hiring Manager (Builder access only). Use to tool to help generate, build, and propose new questions for your role. These settings can be found in your Role Builder under Hiring Team and then you can add new members here or edit their permissions so that hiring managers can quickly use the tool to create new questions and edit questions.
Hiring managers with only Limited Build Access only will only see the pages Job Description, Skills, Sift questions (if applicable) and any other hiring stages added (assessments or interviews)
- Job description
- Skills
- Any hiring stages that have been added to the role
- Interview stages
This allows the hiring manager to access and focus on only those sections where they can provide the most value to you and your team without distraction. More about role permissions here.
How do I use this on my roles?
Once you've generated, edited, and finalised which questions you'd like to use on the candidate's application, go to the page "Saved" (bottom left hand on the sidebar) and click the button "Send to ATS" which will send all the content as is to the ATS. Once sent, any edits made the questions already synced to the Applied ATS Builder can be edited directly in the Builder/Sift question pages like usual.
Have any extra questions that didn't make the cut? No problem, we save everything so you can come back to the content when you want and need.
What happened to the old way of generating AI Sift questions inside the Builder part of Applied?
This has replaced that button with a full, more comprehensive and more intelligent tool that not only you but your hiring team can use together and build/exchange ideas and edits and finalise versions before syncing back to the app.
